First day on the job was filled with apprehension and worries. How will the culture be like? what will the people be like? will i be able to cope up with this entirely different industry? how will i get along with everyone?
On the 3rd day of my job itself, my worries and apprehensions have started wearing off!
The work, the technology is fabulous, and people are astounding! everyone is like been with the organization for past 10-12 years, but still they dont make you feel like an outsider or look down upon you even if you go on asking all the types of questions which just might sound silly to them!
First day, swiping the card through the machine felt like heaven! Memories of Cummins came flooding back where we used to run to swipe in time (here of course, you dont have to because you travel by the bus and do reach on time. and even if you dont, thats not considered as your fault!).
Day 2 - I got my pair of safety shoes and an apron! Okay, to tell the truth, these are a bit heavier than what i was used to (may be cauz i was wearing them after a long long time), and also, these are not slip-on s; they have laces. but its okay.
Day 3 - I spend my entire day on the shop. It was amazing to see all the technology that is there, and the kind of variants there are. It is simply great!
also, on day 3, i am not that tired even after travelling so much. I am getting used to it now! or rather getting used to having a nap in the bus so by the time i reach home, i am a bit refreshed!! hehehe..
So all in all, me having a fabulous time at the new work place and i hope that it gets better every day!!
Amen!

Last Day.......

Discribing the last day of useless was much more different. It was easy. But discribing my last day here, I am finding it very difficult. My feelings are mixed. I am happy and I am sad the same time.
It is like leaving your second home. Not that I am broke by this decision or something, but I have been here for past more than a year and there is definitely some feeling of belongingness. Most of all I will miss my friends.. All the chats, the coffee, get togethers, lunches outside office, the missal paav at the tapri.... Gosh! its difficult!!
But I am happy to leave. I am happy that I am going somewhere where I have better prospects, hope to have a good boss and of course, better salary! hehehe.
Just one prayer to God, Bless this people whom I am leaving behind.. I hope that all shall have a bright n successful future!

the unknown someone...

Sometimes, talking to an unknown person gives you a peace of mind. You can talk about various topics, and lose the track of time. Get the things that are troubling you, out of your mind for sometime. It just feels so refreshed!

Pravs World.......... I will not die.....

I will not die an unlived life.
I will not live in fear of falling or catching fire.

I choose to inhabit by days, to allow my living to open me, to make me less afraid, more accessible, to loosen my heart until it becomes a wing, a torch, a promise.

I choose to risk my significance; to live so that which comes to me as seed goes to next as blossom and that which comes to me as blossom, goes as a fruit....

I will not die an unlived life...

Updates from old friends

I am happy to have my inbox flooded with emails from my OMP gang! Everyones life has gone a step ahead from where we were 3 years back. Many are in the US for their masters, (some have even completed it!) some switched jobs and some are still there where our journey as OMPs began!
I got an email from a friend saying, after his education, he will now again be working for Cummins..
This was a fabulous news to me (and am sure for everyone else too!). A wide smile spread on my face, bringing up all the memories of the couple of years spent at CIL..
Even as my friend has got this excellent opportunity, he wished he could again be tagged as an OMP and be back with the gang!
How very True! I wish this could happen!! I would actually give anything to return to those days, even for sometime!!

Change is only Constant...!

This year is filled with a lot of changes. At home, at office.. And I am thankful to God that most of the changes have been for the better!
Sushil changed his job. Got into one which he is enjoying immensely. And now, I have decided to shift too (yeah... AGAIN!!). The new job I have got has promised me a lot of things. Good work, excellent people around (this I guessed from the number of people I have met till now from that organization. And till date, not many of my guesses about people have gone very wrong! touch wood!!) and of course, an excellent hike too!
It was so sudden. I was absolutely NOT INTERESTED in this offer when the placement consultant first gave me a call. I just went for the sake of going. But as the interview proceeded, I got quite a bit interested in it! And at the end of the interview, they simply gave their decision, "YES!" and I was to decide if i wanted to go ahead with the offer OR not!
This was one of the fastest decisions I had ever seen. I did take my own sweet time to give my acceptance mainly because I am going to be required to travel a lot! But in the end, the offer was so good that travelling time seemed a secondary consideration.
The medical happened and I finally got the offer letter.
The same day, when I came to office, I heard that even my boss was going to put in the resignation! And after hearing that, I actually didnt want to waste time. I wanted to resign b4 him, else I would not have got my relieving on the day I wanted it to be. Fortunately, my boss did not resign that day, neither has he till date. A lot of rumors did go around about his resignation. But he hasnt resigned!
----------------------------
When I had resigned from Cummins, I was close to tears. I was literally shaking when I had told this to my boss.. But here, I didnt feel sad. I didnt feel like crying. (yeah..... maybe, I got used to the situation! :D)
But it does feel bad about leaving this place.. a couple of weeks later, if I would wish to visit this place again, I will have to take a visitors pass and sit in the reception. I will have to clear my desk, my place for some one else to fill in.
I just felt bad that I would not be around with my best friends for the entire day. Will not be able to go out for lunch treats. Will not be able to meet useless for coffee on my way home.
It is so difficult to imagine that I will not be able to indulge my self on a regular basis with the Biriyani from Blue nile, Chicken from KFC, missal from the tapri in our office premises, Sandwitches from just baked.. I will miss so many things.... so many people....
But this cant be stopped. I have to leave. It is just a matter of time that those friends will get used to my absence and I will adapt to my new surroundings!
Anyways, right now I am enjoying my Honeymoon period in office. My last 3 weeks! And I am actually workless! :D

A great friend...

Its is really lovely to have a friend whom you know will always be there to listen out to your frustrations, irritations, patiently and then always saying, 'Chal, lets go out and grab a sandwitch!'
And then knows exactly the joint where you would like to go and takes you there!
It feels so great to have such a wonderful friend in your life! Just being with them, cheers you up!

Pravs World.....There is hope to make you Win!

Do not give up and do not give in,
for hope is there to make you win.

Whether through trouble or through pain,
the lesson should never be in vain.

Staring through the night,
it might feel like you have lost sight.

But behold just a few moments more,
and light will break through with a roar.

Do not give up and do not give in,
for hope is there to make you win!

Pravs World.......... 'A chance to start'

How often we wish for another chance to make a fresh beginning.
A chance to blot out our mistakes and change failure into winning.

It does not take a special time to make a brand new start.
It only takes the deep desire to try with all our heart.

To live a little better, to always be forgiving.
To add a little sunshine in a world for which we're living.

Never give up in despair nor think you are through.
For there's always a tomorrow, A chance to start a new.
